BET Awards, 2014

I recently watched the 2014 BET Awards, I was so impressed with all of the performances, very impressed with some in particular. And I couldn't think of a better host other than Chris Rock. Aside from some of his personal Rick Ross digs, Chris Rock was a perfect host. He defiantly had me laughing all the way through the awards ceremony. I've always admired Rock's work throughout the years, I think he's a brilliant comedian and an amazing entertainer, I don't think I've met anyone who doesn't find Rock hilarious.

First things first I have to discuss Lil' Wayne's performances - all of them. He first performed 'Krazy' one of the singles Wayne has released from his up-coming sequel - Tha Carter VI. In all honesty I'm not keen on this record. However, I know this is because I love the other two songs he's released from this album, 'Believe Me ft, Drake' which he also performed a verse from on the show and 'D'usse'. I've seen Wayne live once in, Dublin, October 2013 - without a doubt he was better than amazing, I could only imagine the atmosphere he brought when he performed at the awards.
Later on Lil' Wayne performed his verse from 'Loyal ft, Tyga' a Chris Brown single, which has done really well.

Seen as though Chris Brown recently came out of jail he's looking really well, his performance was a 7/10, I appreciate he was singing live, but he was also dancing and all that heavy breathing through the mic wasn't great. But he came through, I applaud him.

I think the performance everyone was waiting for from what I read on Twitter was; Trey Songz, August Alsina and Chris Brown. Aside from them being three of the most attractive males at the BET Awards, they are all also great performers. I've only recently heard about August Alsina, his voice is very unique, I think he'll grow on me.

What I've been wanting to talk about is Miss Nicki 'no shade' Minaj. I'm sure everybody, even people who didn't watch the awards heard about Nicki's acceptance speech. Now, a lot of people are assuming Nicki was taking shots at Iggy Azalea, however Nicki stated it had nothing to do with Iggy. I don't believe her - no shade.

Over all I enjoyed watching this years awards, I'm pretty upset Drake didn't win any awards, but his Young Money crew made up for what he didn't win. I loved almost all of the performances, all except the slow performances. I loved all the outfits worn by the beautiful females, and I love the whole concept of celebrating Black entertainers. Brilliant.

I hope my first real post was up to standard. I look forward to some constructive advice, it's more than welcome.

First Post. Excited.

So, a lot of people have been given me various personal advice in order to help me get to where I want to be - career wise. I'm still a student, I've just finished my A Levels and hopefully I should be moving to the capital in September to study Journalism.

One of the things more than one person advised me to do was to create a blog to have an online presence. Finally I decided to create one, I was really worried about what I'd post or what I'd talk about but, being passionate when writing about what matters to me, whether it be important or just for entertainment purposes, was the main thing.

On my blog I'll talk about almost everything from; Music, Celebrities, Films to Fashion and Make-up to whats going on in the world at the time - what I know of, anyway.

Enjoy,

NKB

p.s. comments, advice and changes I should try making to my blog are all welcome, thank you!
