I was suppose to blog about this a long time ago. I was recently given an awesome opportunity. I was a guest speaker on a radio show - Right to REAL Love. Jay, the radio host was so welcoming and was so fun to talk to. He asked me a few questions and I answered them basing them on my previous relationship experiences.
Jay asked me questions about 'Valuable Lessons Learned From Exes'. I had so much fun recording and answering.
Here is the link to the podcast if any of you would like to hear it:
righttoreallove.com/lessons-learned-from-exes/
There are so many more podcasts. I love listening to them and hearing what other people would do in situations that I have previously been in or what to do if I am ever in certain scenarios. The podcasts on Right to REAL Love radio aren't all about love and relationships, Jay covers lots of different topics from friend situations to work situations.
One of my personal favourite podcasts from Right to REAL Love radio is 'Follow Your Dreams and Let Go of Broken Dreams'. (righttoreallove.com/follow-your-dreams/) I really liked listening to this podcast. I am currently at University studying journalism. My personal reason to be paying all of this money and going through the stress of moving to a whole different city is to follow my dreams and hopefully successfully gain a full-time career in my chosen industry. Sometimes the work you get given to do from your tutors at university can be hard, almost to the point where all you want to do is give up. Listening to podcasts like this gives me so much positivity to keep going and carry on doing my best to achieve my goals. Sometimes all it takes is someone else to give you that push and that bit of advice to let you know you are capable of things you thought you would have no chance in doing.
I am so happy to say that Jay invited me to feature on another podcast on Right to REAL Love radio. I will be talking about something totally different this time and i really cannot wait. My life long career goal is to be a radio broadcaster and to be given opportunities like this is amazing. I can't wait to share my next podcast!

Song Review: Start A Fire x Lil' Wayne ft. Christina Millian
SO!
My favourite rapper of all time, Lil' Wayne recently performed his latest Carter 5 single release 'Start a Fire' featuring Christina Millian [Wayne's supposed girlfriend]. He performed this at the 2014 American Music Awards.
I think that this particular record is pretty different to Lil' Wayne's previous songs that have been released from Tha Carter 5. The hook sang by Christina Millian breaks the record down a lot, and the fact that Wayne refers to his "Mamma" when rapping gives the record a softer feel than other songs.
First of all the performance where the song was first heard. I think Wayne could've made more of an effort with his performance, and I think we've all established he cannot sing, which is fine because he's a rapper, but I respect him for trying. Then again I can't really say much for Christina either, she can sing, but not live. I sound like I'm hating, I'm not. I love what Christina wore though, she looked very classy. I'm guessing she wore a Jhene Aiko inspired outfit, she looked cute! She has a really nice figure, which she showed off in the outfit she wore. I'm glad she didn't dress like a typical 'video hoe'.
My favourite song I've heard from Tha Carter 5 so far. 'Believe Me' featuring Drake was released first that was a good taster I think. It was good because it wasn't just about women and sex, it was about where Wayne and Drake are in the rap game right now. Then Wayne released Krazy. Again this song was great because it wasn't about women and sex, and it was only Wayne on this song, so all the credit went to him, solely him. After Krazy, Wayne dropped 'Grindin' the title is pretty self explanatory. This song featured Drake, I didn't like this song as much as 'Believe Me', maybe because 'Believe Me' was the first song that came out so my heart was set. Another song release on the 28th October when Tha Carter 5 was set to be released was, 'Gotti' although slight change up, Drake wasn't featured on this song, The Lox were however. Then the latest song 'Start a Fire' was released. I'm glad that Wayne has decided to give Tha Carter 5 some promotion before releasing the full album, if you're a deep fan you'll know Waynes's not very known to promote many of his albums, concerts. It's just a Lil' Wayne thing.
Now, the song! I really like this song. It was like when I first heard 'How to Love' it was so different, and i guess if you look back to previous Lil' Wayne songs then 'Start a Fire' isn't so different, but it is very different compared to recent Lil' Wayne songs. I like how the verses are short, and they have the same flow as each other, it makes the whole song glue so well. And Christina's hook fixes the whole song. I feel like the song is very heartfelt, this could be because Wayne and Christina are dating.
I better stop before I get jealous. I do like this song, very much. I know a lot of people doubt Wayne, but I have a feeling Tha Carter 5 is going to be the Lil' Wayne comeback album from Tha Carter 3.
I just realised this wasn't much of a song review, more of an excuse to talk about Lil' Wayne. Great.

Diwali, for everyone!
Diwali
dɪˈwɑːli/
noun
a Hindu festival with
lights, held in the period October to November. It is particularly
associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity, and marks the beginning of
the financial year in India.
Diwali is a Hindu festival
also known to fellow Indian's as 'Deepavali' also known as the 'Festival of Light' to everybody else.
I've never been a big
Hindu festival celebrator in the past, however growing up I've come to realise
how fun, getting together with family and friends to celebrate festivals can
be. This year I've decided to be as involved as I can with the festivities, to
learn more about it, also for the nice food.
Mainly for the nice food.
I wanted to find out more about the
festival for myself, I did some research and the more and more I learnt about
Diwali I realised that it isn't just a festival for Hindu's, it's a
festival that can relate to everyone who believes in what Diwali
spiritually signifies.
"Triumph of good
over evil, of righteousness over treachery, of truth over falsehood, and of
light over darkness."
I think as long as you believe in this way of thinking, Diwali can relate to everyone and anyone. Any religion, any race. There are a lot more ways to celebrate Diwali aside from the belief side of it, it's a fun festival, Rangoli patterns are painted outside houses and fireworks are lit to celebrate the Indian New Year, lamps and candles are lit and placed around the house.
Of course there more in depth meanings to Diwali, and it means a lot more to some people than others. In order to get ready for Diwali; houses are cleaned, certain foods are made and new clothes are worn. All of which work to my advantage, any excuse to eat and buy new clothes.

The Festival of Lights.
All of the Hindu God's have different meanings, for Diwali
Lakshmi, Goddess of Wealth are honored the most. Lamps are lit in and
outside people’s houses to guide Lakshmi, Goddess of Wealth into their
homes. Prayers are said to the Goddess in order for a successful year ahead.
And I'm paying £9k a year for tuition fees, so we all know who I'll
be praying to in the next few days.
I wanted to write this post
for insight for myself as well as for others, I think it's important to
share one another's festivals with each other, celebrating
together is always more fun. And I can't stress how good the food is
around this time of year.
Happy eating and Happy Diwali
everybody!

Song Review: All About That Bass x Meghan Trainor
Since I've been going out at night a lot over the past month with it being freshers week or just an excuse to go out and drink alcohol, I've heard this song over 100 times. Personally, I am not into commercial music, I have a personal problem with listening to music that other people can't stop listening to. I've noticed when I go to clubs they try to make everyone there like the music, so they play catchy, corny, commercial music. Annoying.
So, an over look at this song... It's about girls, about how being a bigger dress size than a size 8 is acceptable and how Meghan's Mother supposedly told her that guys like bigger bums because they like to hold something at night - always the best kind of motivation.
Even though I hate listening to this song let alone blogging about it, I have recently heard that the lyrics have conjured up some sort of controversy. Of course it would, people do anything for a few status likes nowadays. I heard of a Facebook status from a girl on my friends Facebook, about how in the song Meghan refers to slimmer girls as "skinny b*tches" this seemed to make them mad, "it's not my [their] fault I'm naturally a size 6." I love how people feel the need to publicise that information about themselves, instead of just ranting how the lyrics is offensive to all girls who are a smaller dress size than a size 10.
I think that if this song has been taken personally by any girls who are a smaller dress size than a size 10, YOU ARE VERY SILLY. I can't remember the last time I listened to a commercial song that had an ounce of meaning behind the lyrics, to say the truth, artists who purposely make commercial music, just want a bit of quick money. It's so obvious Miss. Trainor didn't write these ''in-depth'' lyrics herself. And there's nothing wrong with her doing this, in fact it has benefited her because the song, as much as I hate to admit it, is very catchy and does stick in your head after you've heard it once, so she has done well because people will remember the song. Unfortunately, people won't remember her because she's not had much promotion as a new artist, I had to Google who she was before I wrote this.
However, I did read somewhere that Meghan has been nominated for the 'New Artist of the Year' award. No surprises there, lets face it it's always the over ratted singers and actors who get the awards.
Anyway, I think that's enough criticising for the night. On a positive note, I would like to say I watched the music video with my 3 year old cousin and she enjoyed it very much, it was very cute watching her try to sing the song. I guess every cloud does have a silver lining.

So far... Not much actually.
First of all I'd like to admit how ashamed I am of myself for not updating my blog as much as I should. I told myself 'every week, at least one post every week', that motivation obviously wasn't enough.
I thought I should update whoever views my blog about what I've achieved since my last post which feels like it was posted years ago...
I got into the University I wanted to get into the most, which to me was a massive achievement. The grades I got for my last year of my A Levels were not what I hoped for, after seeing them I thought I could kiss the idea of going to University, goodbye! Thankfully, I got into UAL.
I am now a, Journalism (B.A. Hons) student studying in the Capital. Fabulous.
I've not officially started my degree course yet, which, to be honest is super annoying. I've been living in London for a whole month now, and all I seem to have done is spend money, unnecessarily. Sad. I start my course properly tomorrow, however. I am so excited which is strange because I've never been excited to start any form of education. Maybe because I'm studying something that I truly want to do as a career, it makes me feel like I have a foot through the door to getting where I want to go.
I guess that's all I've done so far, I thought I'd done a lot, but no.
I'll be sure to update my blog a lot more. If anyone is reading I hope I'm as entertaining as I like to be.

BET Awards, 2014
I recently watched the 2014 BET Awards, I was so impressed with all of the performances, very impressed with some in particular. And I couldn't think of a better host other than Chris Rock. Aside from some of his personal Rick Ross digs, Chris Rock was a perfect host. He defiantly had me laughing all the way through the awards ceremony. I've always admired Rock's work throughout the years, I think he's a brilliant comedian and an amazing entertainer, I don't think I've met anyone who doesn't find Rock hilarious.
First things first I have to discuss Lil' Wayne's performances - all of them. He first performed 'Krazy' one of the singles Wayne has released from his up-coming sequel - Tha Carter VI. In all honesty I'm not keen on this record. However, I know this is because I love the other two songs he's released from this album, 'Believe Me ft, Drake' which he also performed a verse from on the show and 'D'usse'. I've seen Wayne live once in, Dublin, October 2013 - without a doubt he was better than amazing, I could only imagine the atmosphere he brought when he performed at the awards.
Later on Lil' Wayne performed his verse from 'Loyal ft, Tyga' a Chris Brown single, which has done really well.
Seen as though Chris Brown recently came out of jail he's looking really well, his performance was a 7/10, I appreciate he was singing live, but he was also dancing and all that heavy breathing through the mic wasn't great. But he came through, I applaud him.
I think the performance everyone was waiting for from what I read on Twitter was; Trey Songz, August Alsina and Chris Brown. Aside from them being three of the most attractive males at the BET Awards, they are all also great performers. I've only recently heard about August Alsina, his voice is very unique, I think he'll grow on me.
What I've been wanting to talk about is Miss Nicki 'no shade' Minaj. I'm sure everybody, even people who didn't watch the awards heard about Nicki's acceptance speech. Now, a lot of people are assuming Nicki was taking shots at Iggy Azalea, however Nicki stated it had nothing to do with Iggy. I don't believe her - no shade.
Over all I enjoyed watching this years awards, I'm pretty upset Drake didn't win any awards, but his Young Money crew made up for what he didn't win. I loved almost all of the performances, all except the slow performances. I loved all the outfits worn by the beautiful females, and I love the whole concept of celebrating Black entertainers. Brilliant.
I hope my first real post was up to standard. I look forward to some constructive advice, it's more than welcome.
